Applied Research in Networking – October 21

October 14th, 2009

Join ACM this Wednesday as we host Dr. Sedigh as she gives a presentation on Applied Research in Networking.

The increasing ubiquity of computer networks has led to
interesting and diverse research in applications of networking, and vice
versa. We will discuss a number of areas where this research has been
particularly fruitful, including sensor networks for environmental
monitoring and intelligent critical infrastructure systems.

Dr. Sahra Sedigh is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Research Investigator with the Intelligent Systems Center at the Missouri University of Science & Technology.

Reflections|Projections & Mechmania

September 15th, 2009

Reflections|Projections provides a great opportunity for a weekend full of fun and expanding your knowledge. We will be organizing a group to attend Reflections|Projections, if you are interested in attending, please attend a meeting in the next couple weeks. If you are unable to attend a meeting, feel free to email an officer.

The Association for Computing Machinery at the University of Illinois is hosting its 15th annual computing conference on October 16-18, 2009. Reflections | Projections is an opportunity for us to bring together students from across the country to gain a broader perspective on computer science in the presence of some of the great minds of today and yesterday. Throughout the weekend, we’ll have several speakers from across the country (from industry and academia alike), a programming competition from in-house developers (MechMania), and a job fair for students and companies in Computer Science.
